I. Customer Background
The customer is a large-scale ceramic manufacturing enterprise in West Java, Indonesia, specializing in the processing of ceramic tiles and sanitary ware. It
generates approximately 1,800 cubic meters of ceramic wastewater per day.
The wastewater mainly comes from the raw material grinding, glazing, and molding cleaning processes, containing ceramic powder residue, suspended glaze particles, and other impurities. It needs to be filtered to meet the Indonesian environmental discharge standards (Uji Laboratorium Lingkungan), and part of the treated water is recycled for workshop floor cleaning.
II. Core Project Requirements and Operating Parameters
Wastewater Characteristics: pH value 8-11 (alkaline), suspended solids concentration (SS) ≤ 800 mg/L, with a small amount of inorganic calcium and magnesium salt precipitates.
Treatment Capacity: Two independent filtration systems need to be configured, each with an effective filtration area of 15 square meters, to meet the continuous operation requirements.
Operating Conditions: The wastewater temperature is stable at 32°C (normal temperature condition), and the on-site power grid is the Indonesian standard 380V/50Hz.
III. Customized Solution
Based on the customer\’s operating parameters, a \”pre-treatment + high-precision filtration\” integrated system was designed, with the following core configurations:
Filtration System: Two 15-square-meter alkali-resistant box-type filtration machines, with PP filter plates suitable for pH 8-11 alkaline environments to prevent
corrosion and aging.
Feeding System: Equipped with QBK pneumatic diaphragm pumps (EPDM diaphragm + 316L stainless steel valve body), suitable for 32°C normal temperature
conditions, without the risk of motor overheating, and capable of transporting wastewater containing particles.
IV. Project Implementation Results
Efficiency Meets Standards: The two 15-square-meter filtration systems operate simultaneously, treating 1,800 cubic meters of wastewater per day. The SS of the filtered water is stable at 15-20 mg/L, fully meeting the Indonesian environmental discharge requirements. The recycled water can be directly used for workshop floor cleaning.
Excellent Equipment Adaptability: Under the 32°C normal temperature condition, the filtration machines and diaphragm pumps operate continuously for 16 hours per day without filter membrane deformation or pump body leakage. The PP material filter plates effectively resist alkaline corrosion, and the equipment shows no significant wear after 12 months of operation.
Optimized Operation and Maintenance Costs: The maintenance cycle is extended to 4 months, requiring only the replacement of filter cloth and seals, reducing annual maintenance costs by 40%. The automatic backwashing system reduces manual operations, and only one worker is needed to monitor each set of equipment.
