Customer Case: Industrial Wastewater Pre-treatment Project of an Environmental Engineering Company

Customer Background

An environmental engineering company based in Zhejiang undertook an industrial wastewater treatment project for an electronic component manufacturer. The wastewater primarily contained trace amounts of suspended particulate matter and a small quantity of organic substances. The original pretreatment system utilized a sand filtration process, which suffered from issues such as insufficient filtration precision, frequent backwashing, and unstable effluent quality, thereby affecting the normal operation of the subsequent membrane treatment system.

Solution

Based on the characteristics of the wastewater and the treatment requirements (processing capacity of 60 m³/h, with suspended solids primarily sized above 1 micron), we recommended and supplied the JYMF-4P-304 stainless steel multi-bag filter as the upgraded pretreatment equipment. The selection was based on the following considerations:

7

  • 4-Bag Configuration: Met the flow demand of 60 m³/h with low operating pressure drop.

  • 304 Stainless Steel Construction: Resistant to weak acidity and chloride ion corrosion present in the wastewater.

  • 1-Micron PP Filter Bags: Precisely intercepted fine suspended solids, effectively protecting the downstream reverse osmosis membrane.

  • Side-Inlet, Bottom-Outlet Design: Facilitated on-site piping layout and minimized installation space requirements.

Furthermore, in accordance with the customer’s project requirements, we provided the following customized services:

  • Drawing Confirmation: Ensured the equipment’s external dimensions precisely matched the on-site foundation and piping connections.

  • Custom Nameplate: Manufactured the equipment nameplate according to the owner’s uniform identification specifications.

  • Process Documentation: Provided photographs of the equipment manufacturing process and assembly videos to facilitate project file archiving.

Implementation Results
After the equipment was commissioned, third-party testing and project acceptance confirmed the following outcomes:

  • Improved Effluent Quality: The suspended solids content in the pretreated effluent was consistently controlled below 1 mg/L, meeting the influent requirements of the subsequent membrane system.

  • Stable System Operation: The frequency of sand filter backwashing was reduced from three times per day to once per week, resulting in lower overall system energy consumption.

  • Reduced Maintenance Costs: The filter bag replacement cycle stabilized at approximately 10 days, with simple operation requiring no specialized tools.

  • Extended Membrane System Lifespan: Due to the enhanced pretreatment precision, the cleaning cycle for the reverse osmosis membrane was extended from the originally designed 30 days to over 60 days.

Customer Feedback
“This multi-bag filter has performed stably in the project, meeting the filtration precision requirements and being easy to maintain. We were particularly impressed with the responsive customized services—the drawings, nameplate, and process photos were all provided as requested, demonstrating excellent cooperation. We will prioritize this equipment for similar projects we undertake in the future.”
