Overseas Delivery Case Study: Specialized Filter Press for Herbal Extract Filtration Testing

Project Background
A client in Southeast Asia, primarily engaged in the R&D and production of natural plant extracts, required a filter press suitable for small-flow, alkaline material conditions during the testing phase of their herbal extract filtration process. After comprehensive selection, they partnered with us to customize a filter press solution and complete the overseas delivery.

The client needed solid-liquid separation of the extract during the R&D testing of herbal extracts. The core requirements were compatibility with small-flow laboratory testing scenarios, equipment capable of withstanding alkaline material environments, efficient liquid recovery, and suitability for routine testing at room temperature. To match the client’s testing conditions, we customized a dedicated filter press unit, ensuring equipment adaptability and timely overseas delivery.

Core Operating Requirements

  1. Filtration Material: Herbal extract (for process testing)

  2. Operating Environment: Room temperature

  3. Material Parameters: Small flow rate, pH value 9-11

  4. Separation Goal: Liquid recovery

Solution and Equipment Configuration

To address the client’s testing conditions and needs, we configured the XMQ2/380 recessed plate filter press. The core configuration was precisely tailored for the alkaline, small-flow testing scenario, with specific details as follows:

filter press

  1. Filter Press Frame: 1 set of carbon steel frame, equipped with a manual hydraulic jack and a single open-flow PVC gutter, balancing structural stability and corrosion resistance.

  2. Recessed Filter Plates: 11 filter plates designed for normal temperature and pressure, suitable for room temperature testing conditions.

  3. Feed System: 1 set of PP air-operated diaphragm pump (QBK-25) and 304 stainless steel feed piping, compatible with alkaline materials and ensuring stable feeding.

  4. Additional Features: The equipment includes casters with braking mechanisms, facilitating flexible movement and secure positioning within the client’s laboratory setting.
This equipment configuration did not require separate drawing approval, as it referenced proven, adaptable solutions from past projects, ensuring a high degree of compatibility between the equipment and the operating conditions.

Project Value
This collaboration provided a highly adaptable, customized filter press solution based on the unique operating conditions of the client’s herbal extract testing. The equipment’s materials and configuration specifically addressed the core requirements of processing alkaline materials under low flow conditions, successfully meeting the client’s solid-liquid separation needs during the R&D and testing phase.

Furthermore, the entire process utilized an overseas DDP one-stop delivery model, incorporating professional packaging and on-time delivery. This provided the overseas client with a convenient and efficient equipment procurement experience and established a solid foundation for potential future collaboration on larger equipment batches once their process is finalized.
