The multi-level diesel purification system has been implemented, helping mechanical operation enterprises reduce equipment maintenance costs by 30%.

In response to the problem of rising equipment failure rates and maintenance costs caused by diesel pollution in a large-scale mechanical operation enterprise, our company has specially developed a three-level diesel purification system with a stable processing flow of 5m³/h. This system effectively removes impurities and moisture from the diesel, significantly enhancing the reliability of equipment operation and reducing the annual maintenance cost by nearly 30%.

This system adopts a multi-stage progressive process of “bag-type coarse filtration + PE fine filtration + aggregation separation for water removal“. The overall structure is made of carbon steel and is equipped with a mobile base, which is convenient for on-site deployment and operation.

Process Flow and Technical Characteristics

The system operation process is as follows: gear pump → bag filter → PE filter element filter → aggregation filter element → separation filter element.

Level 1: Bag-type Coarse Filtration

As the pre-protective unit, a bag-type filter with a large dust capacity is adopted. It can quickly intercept large particles such as rust and sand with a diameter greater than 50μm in the diesel. This measure can effectively reduce the load on the subsequent filtration system and extend the service life of the precision filter element by 30% – 50%. The filter housing is made of carbon steel, with a design pressure of 1.0 Mpa. The size of each filter bag is Φ180×810mm, and the filtration area is 0.5 m².

Level 2: Fine Filtration with PE Filter Elements

The diesel that has undergone coarse filtration enters a fine filtration unit consisting of 25 high-strength polyethylene (PE) filter elements. The filtration accuracy is up to 5 μm, which can effectively capture tiny particles such as colloids and asphaltene, providing a clean guarantee for subsequent water separation and equipment lubrication. The filter element size is Φ38×1000mm, and the housing is also made of carbon steel.

Level 3: Coalescence Separation for Water Removal

This stage is the key to deep dehydration. Diesel flows successively through the coalescence filter element and the separation filter element. The coalescence filter element condenses the dispersed tiny water droplets in the water into larger liquid droplets, and then, relying on the density difference, the oil and water are rapidly separated in the separation filter element. Eventually, the water content in the outlet diesel is reduced to below 100 ppm, far exceeding the industry standard. The specifications of the coalescence and separation filter elements are both 100×1000mm, with 3 pieces and 1 piece respectively.

Core drive and configuration

The system power is provided by a KCB135 type cast steel gear pump, with a rated flow of 135 L/MIN and a matching 4KW motor. The entire unit integrates pressure gauges, sealing rings, manual valves, and connection pipelines, etc., to ensure stable and reliable operation of the system under a working pressure of 0.6 Mpa.

The successful implementation of this case not only precisely addressed the customers\’ pain points, but also demonstrated the outstanding efficacy and highly customized engineering value of the multi-level progressive filtration technology in the field of fuel purification.
