Customer Case: High Temperature and High Viscosity Material Filtration Project of a Russian Chemical Enterprise

Project Background
Our Russian client is an enterprise specializing in the production of fine chemicals and polymer materials. In the production process of its pure polyisobutylene adipic anhydride (PIBSA), it is necessary to perform precise polishing and filtration on the high-temperature (200℃ constant temperature) and high-viscosity materials, with the requirement that the filtrate be completely clear. As the client is a new customer and has no existing drawings, extremely customized requirements have been put forward for the structural design of the equipment, the material’s temperature resistance, and the discharge efficiency.

Facing challenges

1. High temperature and high viscosity challenge: The material needs to operate at a constant temperature of 200℃, and the designed temperature needs to reach 250℃. Conventional filtration equipment is prone to sudden increase in material viscosity due to heat dissipation, resulting in blockage.

2. Risk of coking and carbon deposition: If there are threaded or other dead corners in the material contact area, coking and carbon deposition of the material are highly likely to occur, and cleaning is very difficult.

3. Difficult discharge of filter cake: The wall surface of the cylinder has a cooling effect, and the pneumatic reverse blowing has a weak impact force near the wall surface, making it difficult for the edge filter cake to be smoothly separated.

4. No custom drawings: The customer lacks detailed drawings, and the supplier needs to have strong design capabilities and strict requirements for delivery time.

Solution
In response to the customers’ pain points, we have specially designed the JYCF-7.5 dual-cylinder candle-type filter system for them (with a total filtration area of 15 square meters and a processing capacity of 5000 kg/h):

Duplex candle filter (12)

1. Full jacketed heating and insulation: The cylinder body and lower conical section are equipped with SS304 jacketed tubes for circulating heat transfer oil, and an additional high-density rock wool insulation layer is added to the outer layer to ensure a constant temperature of 200℃; the flow components of the inner cylinder are made of 10mm thick SS316L stainless steel, which is resistant to high temperatures and corrosion.

2. No dead corners and anti-coking design: The filter element fixation adopts an integrated thick tube plate and independent bolt locking strips, and the contact area with the material is strictly prohibited from having threaded structures, which prevents carbon deposition from the root cause.

3. Optimized flow field and discharging: The center distance of the filter element is designed to be 110mm, ensuring a net gap of 45-50mm; the outermost filter element and the inner wall of the cylinder are reserved at least 70mm of net distance to overcome the cooling effect of the wall. Combined with “nitrogen pulse reverse blowing + pneumatic vibrator” and the quick-opening discharge port at the bottom of the cylinder, it realizes efficient discharging of dry/half-dry filter cakes.

4. Drawing confirmation and rapid delivery: The technical team provides the drawings to the customers for confirmation at the first time, and immediately starts production after confirmation. The equipment is equipped with a fully automatic control cabinet and is manufactured strictly in accordance with the GOST Russian standard flange standards, using export standard plywood boxes for packaging. The delivery is completed within 45 working days successfully.

Customer feedback
The customer highly praised the overall design of the equipment. The equipment operates stably in parallel, with the outlet vacuum reaching -80 kilopascals, and the filtrate is completely clear, perfectly meeting the expectations of precise polishing filtration. The filter element assembly can be removed and disassembled as a whole, significantly reducing the maintenance difficulty for on-site workers. The customer stated: “From the design drawings to the final delivery, the entire process was professional and efficient. This dual system fully meets our processing requirements for high-temperature and high-viscosity materials.”

Project Summary
This project successfully demonstrated our customized design and manufacturing capabilities in the field of filtration for high-temperature, high-viscosity and prone-to-coking materials. Through the dual-parallel structure, full jacketed heating and optimized filter element arrangement, we not only solved the problem of precise filtration for our customers, but also enhanced the overall operational efficiency of their factories through fully automatic control and convenient maintenance design.
