Project Overview
Recently, the technical team of Junyi Filtration engaged with the filtration process requirements of a grain and oil processing client, providing a customized solid-liquid separation solution for the soybean oil refining stage. The client’s production line processes a total of 10,000 L of soybean oil per day, with a solid content of 5% in the material. The production mode is intermittent operation of 8 hours per day, with the material filtered in 4 batches. The process objective is to efficiently remove decolorizing clay, gums, and suspended solid residues from crude oil, stably control the clarity of the finished oil, and prevent solid impurities from being carried into subsequent refining processes.
Technical Solution
Based on the client’s batch production characteristics, feed solid load, and the process characteristics of oil filtration, the technical team selected the XAY8/500 recessed plate filter press as the core separation equipment. The equipment has a filtration area of 8 m² and a total filter chamber volume of 120 L. The 500 mm specification filter plate structure is suitable for low-pressure filtration conditions of vegetable oil. The reasonable filter chamber volume matches the single-feed quantity, enabling the formation of a uniform and stable filter cake within a single batch filtration cycle, avoiding issues such as overflow, biased flow, and local overload of the filter cloth, fully adapting to the client’s 4-batch intermittent filtration rhythm.
Performance & Efficiency
Under oil filtration conditions, the filter press relies on the dual mechanism of filter cloth screening and deep interception by the filter cake to intercept clay particles and fine suspended impurities in soybean oil. After filtration, the light transmittance of the oil is significantly improved, reducing the load on subsequent degumming and deodorization stages. The equipment can complete pressing and liquid discharge under appropriate operating pressure, with controllable filter cake moisture content, reducing oil entrainment losses and helping the client reduce raw material waste.
