Firstly, the filter cloth is mainly wrapped around the outside of the filter plate, which plays an important role in the effective separation of solid and liquid. Some concave and convex dots on the filter plate can improve the filtration and dewatering volume of the filter press, which makes the flow rate of the equipment faster, shortens the filtration cycle, and makes the working efficiency of the plate and frame filter press much higher. At the same time, the bumps on the filter plate further increase the filtration area, which makes the filtering performance of the filter press in a stable state, protects the filter cloth from damage, and prolongs the service life of the plate and frame filter press.
The main reason for the high water content of the filter cake is:
1. Unsuitable filter cloth selection: Different filter cloths have different pore sizes, and unsuitable pore sizes do not effectively filter solid particles, leading to clogging, aging and many other problems. This affects the filtration effect, which results in a high water content in the filter cake.
2. Insufficient filtration pressure: In a filter press, the filter plate is pressed tightly against the filter cloth. When filtration is carried out, the filtrate needs sufficient pressure to penetrate the filter plate and filter cloth quickly to achieve the effect of filtration. If the pressure is insufficient, the water in the filter plate cannot be discharged as much as it should be, resulting in an increase in cake moisture.
3. Insufficient pressing force: The filter chamber is filled with a filter plate, which expands outwards as it fills with expanding material, which further pressurises the filter plate. If there are solids in the filter plate at this time and the pressing force is insufficient, then the water cannot be effectively discharged, resulting in an increase in the moisture of the filter cake.
Solutions:
1. Select filter cloth with suitable aperture.
2. Set suitable parameters such as filter press time, pressure, etc. for the filter press.
3. Improve the pressing force.
