Upgrade of Homogenization Line for Chemical Enterprises in the Middle East

Customer Background
A medium-sized industrial chemical manufacturer based in the Middle East specializes in architectural coatings, industrial anti-rust paints, and water-based adhesives. Previously, the company relied on separate mixing and heating units, which required frequent material transfers. This led to significant batch-to-batch stability fluctuations and a production cycle of up to 6 hours per batch—making it difficult to keep pace with rising export order volumes.

Challenges Faced
During production of high-viscosity anti-rust primer, the customer needed to thoroughly mix and refine resin, pigments, and additives at 80–90°C. However, the existing equipment suffered from:

  • Insufficient heating power

  • Low homogenization speed

As a result, the final particle size only reached 60 microns—well above the target of 30 microns. This forced the addition of a separate grinding step, which not only extended processing time but also increased equipment wear. Moreover, the original carbon steel tank was prone to internal rusting, which adversely affected the purity of light-colored coatings.

Our Solution
We recommended our 1000L SS304 stainless steel electric heating homogenizer as the core unit for the customer’s small-batch, high-value product line. This equipment delivers the following key advantages:

  • Integrated Process Design
Heating, insulation, and high-speed homogenization are combined in a single sealed tank—eliminating intermediate transfers, reducing contamination risks, and shortening auxiliary operation time.

  • Powerful Homogenization
Driven by a top-mounted 11kW motor at 2900 RPM (with speed adjustment support), the homogenizer was tested on the anti-rust primer formula at 80% full speed. Measured particle size dropped from 60 to 25 microns, directly removing the need for post-grinding.09_详情_细节展示

  • Rapid Heating & Precise Temperature Control
The 72kW total electric heating system raises 1000L of material from room temperature to 85°C in approximately 35 minutes (as measured on-site)—nearly half the time of the old system. The jacketed insulation layer minimizes heat loss and ensures a stable homogenization environment.

  • Superior Material & Surface Finish
The SS304 stainless steel inner wall is mirror-polished, offering excellent corrosion resistance and easier cleaning. When switching between white and dark gray coatings, tank cleaning time was reduced from 2 hours to just 45 minutes.

  • Safety & Compatibility
A 0.2 MPa pressure-relief safety valve ensures safe operation under high-temperature conditions. The 304 stainless steel flanges and gaskets on the bypass channel allow easy connection to the customer’s existing DN50 circulation piping.

Application Results
Following installation, commissioning, and operational training, the homogenizer entered full production. Over three consecutive months of data collection, the customer reported the following measurable improvements:

  • Batch Consistency
Viscosity fluctuation across batches for the same formula dropped from ±8% to ±2.5%, significantly reducing rejection rates.

  • Shorter Cycle Time
Total processing time per batch—from raw material input to finished output—was cut from 6 hours to 3.8 hours, increasing daily production capacity by approximately 40%.

  • Energy Efficiency
Despite the higher heating power, the combination of insulation and rapid heating strategy resulted in 12% lower average electricity consumption per ton of product compared to the old system.

  • Quality Upgrade
The homogenized coatings showed marked improvements in flowability and gloss, enabling the customer to successfully enter the supply chains of two local high-end decorative paint buyers.

Customer Feedback
The customer’s production manager commented:

“The integration of this homogenizer exceeded our expectations. The speed regulation feature, in particular, allows us to flexibly adapt to the shear requirements of different formulations. The equipment runs stably and is easy to maintain.”

Summary
This case demonstrates how our 1000L stainless steel homogenization tanks can effectively address real-world challenges faced by overseas chemical manufacturers—including low heating efficiency, inadequate homogenization, and cumbersome production workflows. Through proper selection and adaptation, the equipment not only improves product quality and output but also provides a solid process foundation for entering higher-value markets.

The unit has now been successfully delivered and has been operating stably for over 10 months, with consistently high customer satisfaction.
